WACO, TX – The Travis Science Academy 7th Grade Lady Mustangs officially kicked off their 2026 track and field campaign with a powerhouse performance on Monday at the Waco Invitational. Competing at Paul Tyson Field in a "running events only" format, the Lady Mustangs showcased their speed and depth, securing a 2nd Place finish in the team standings.
Travis tallied an impressive 112 points, holding off Tennyson (56 points) to claim the runner-up spot behind team champion Robinson (127 points).
Highlights and Top Performers
The Lady Mustangs' success was anchored by a dominant showing in the relay events and a standout individual performance by Ashlyn Day. Day took home the gold in the 200-meter dash with a blistering time of 30.11 and ran the lead leg for the victorious 4x100 Relay team.
The hurdles also proved to be a goldmine for points. Payton McClain secured 2nd place in the 100 hurdles, while Norah Ice grabbed a 3rd place finish in the 300 hurdles. In the 400 meters, Travis showed incredible pack strength, with Rayne Booker, Reagan Seefelt, and Delilah Molett finishing 2nd, 3rd, and 4th respectively.

Looking Ahead
The Lady Mustangs will look to build on this momentum as they prepare for their next competition. Travis will travel to Little River-Academy on March 4 to compete in the Bumblebee Relays at Academy High School.
