The Travis Science Academy 8th Grade Lady Mustangs displayed impressive speed and grit this past Wednesday, March 4, at the Academy Bumblebee Relays. Competing under the lights of John Glover Stadium, the Lady Mustangs secured a solid 4th place finish out of 13 teams, totaling 57 points in a highly competitive field.
While North Belton (212 points) and Lampasas (95 points) took the top two spots, Travis held their own against a deep roster of central Texas talent.
Standout Performances
The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the performance of Kameryn Tate. Tate blazed through the competition to secure 1st Place in the 100-meter dash with a stellar time of 12.50 seconds. Her versatility across both track and field events earned her a spot as a Top 10 athlete of the meet, contributing 20 individual points to the Mustangs' total.
The relay teams also proved to be a powerhouse for Travis. Both the 4x100 and 4x200 squads captured 2nd Place finishes, showing off seamless transitions and explosive speed.
