TEMPLE, TX — It was a tale of two halves at Travis Science Academy Stadium on Thursday night. After a sluggish start, the Travis Science Academy Lady Mustang 8th Grade soccer team found their offensive rhythm in a big way, roaring back to defeat the Copperas Cove Lady Bullpups 4-1.

The win keeps the Lady Mustangs' perfect season intact, moving them to a 2-0 record on the year.

A Tale of Two Halves

The opening period was a defensive struggle for the home team. Despite controlling chunks of possession, Travis couldn't find the back of the net. Copperas Cove took advantage of a late-half opportunity, slipping a shot past the keeper to take a 1-0 lead into the locker room.
Whatever was said during the halftime break clearly resonated. The Lady Mustangs returned to the pitch with renewed energy and a relentless attack that the Lady Bullpups simply couldn't contain.

The Kamora Asselin Show

The second half belonged to Kamora Asselin. Demonstrating elite footwork and clinical finishing, Asselin dismantled the Cove defense to record a hat trick. Her three goals turned a deficit into a commanding lead in a matter of minutes, electrifying the home crowd.
Kameryn Tate added the exclamation point for Travis, netting a goal of her own to round out the 4-goal second-half explosion.
