TEMPLE, TX — Under the lights of the Travis Science Academy Stadium on Thursday evening, the Travis Mustang soccer team proved that one clinical moment is all it takes to secure a victory. In a tightly contested defensive battle, the Mustangs edged out the Lamar Middle School Bearcats with a narrow 1-0 victory.

The match was defined by physical play and high-pressure transitions, but Travis found the breakthrough they needed in the first half.

The Game-Winner

The decisive moment came midway through the opening period. Josias Lasoya orchestrated the attack, delivering a precise assist that found the feet of Angel Rosales Lopez. Lopez didn’t miss his chance, slotting the ball home to give the Mustangs the early lead.

While the Bearcats pushed for an equalizer in the second half, the Travis backline remained disciplined, stifling Lamar’s offensive runs and preserving the clean sheet until the final whistle.

Looking Ahead: Season Finale

The Mustangs are currently scheduled to wrap up their season on May 14 at home. They are set to host the Copperas Cove Junior High Bullpups, with kickoff slated for 5:00 PM.

Note to Fans: While the match is currently on the calendar for Thursday, team officials have noted that scheduling conflicts may arise. Supporters are encouraged to stay tuned for potential updates regarding a date or time change for the season finale.
