McGREGOR — The Travis Science Academy Lady Mustang 7th Grade A volleyball team officially kicked off their season on Thursday evening with a road match against the River Valley Middle School Lady Panthers. Despite a competitive effort on the road, the Lady Mustangs dropped their opener in two sets, 25-15, 25-16.

Travis found sparks of production from its primary playmakers at the net and behind the service line. Tatiana Campbell led the overall offensive attack, delivering a team-high 4 kills alongside 3 service aces. Carmen Bonds was equally impactful from the server's mark, racking up 4 aces to go with 1 kill on the night.

The Lady Mustangs will look to bounce back and capture their first win of the season when they return home to Mustang Gym on Thursday, September 3. Travis is set to host local rival Lamar Middle School, with first serve scheduled for 7:00 PM.
