TEMPLE, Texas — The Travis Science Academy Lady Mustang 7th Grade A volleyball team delivered a commanding performance Thursday evening at Mustang Gym, sweeping Copperas Cove SC Lee Junior High in straight sets, 25-14, 25-18.

From the opening serve, Travis established control behind a relentless service game and sharp frontline play. The Lady Mustangs set the tone early in the first set, building a comfortable cushion and keeping SC Lee on defense. That momentum carried right into the second set, where Travis showcased its depth to shut the door on any potential SC Lee comeback.

The victory moves the Lady Mustangs to 2-1 on the season.

Travis was led by stellar performances across the rotation:

Katalina Schottler: Dynamic from the baseline, scoring on 13 serves and recording 2 aces to anchor the Lady Mustangs' offense.

Adrienne Woods: Outstanding all-around match with 8 serves made, a team-high 4 aces, and 1 kill at the net.

Carmen Bonds: Powerful presence at the net, pacing the attack with 2 kills, 4 serves made, and 1 ace.

Aimee Membreno: Consistent force on both ends, tallying 1 kill, 8 serves made, and 2 aces.

With Thursday's decisive victory in the books, the Lady Mustangs turn their attention to the road. Travis will return to action on Thursday, September 17, when they travel to face North Belton Middle School. First serve is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
