TEMPLE, Texas — The Travis Science Academy 7th grade B volleyball team put up a spirited effort on the road Thursday evening but ultimately fell short against the North Belton Middle School Bronchos. North Belton defended their home court with a two-set victory, taking the match 25-19, 25-12.

The Lady Mustangs battled hard in the opening set, keeping the score tight through disciplined passing and strong behind-the-line play. However, the Bronchos found their momentum late in the first set and carried that energy into the second to secure the sweep. With the loss, Travis moves to 1-3 on the season.

Despite the outcome, several Lady Mustangs delivered standout individual performances:

Jordin Williams: 5 passes made, 3 serves, 1 ace
Ranesme Garza: 5 serves made, 1 ace
Anna Wright: 6 passes made, 1 serve made
Gabrielle Lyons: 3 passes made, 2 serves made

Wright anchored the defensive backline with a team-high six passes, while Williams and Garza provided key scoring sparks with an ace apiece.

The Lady Mustangs will look to bounce back as they stay on the road for their next contest. Travis travels to face off against the Belton Middle School Lady Tigers on Thursday evening, with tipoff scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
