The Travis Science Academy 8th Grade A volleyball team put on a display of mental toughness on the road, battling past the North Belton Middle School Bronchos in two highly competitive sets. With the hard-fought win, the Lady Mustangs improved their season record to 3-1.

Travis opened the match set on establishing early momentum, edging out North Belton 25-22 in a tightly contested opening frame. The second set proved to be an absolute thriller, pushing both squads beyond the traditional 25-point mark. Refusing to let the match go to a deciding third set, the Lady Mustangs held their ground in extra points to seal a thrilling 29-27 victory.

Powerful net play and clutch service execution anchored the Travis victory:

Akylah Howard led the charge at the net and from the line, pounding out 4 kills while making 4 serves and landing 1 ace.
Kayla Deluze delivered consistent pressure from the service stripe, tallying 7 successful serves and a team-high 3 aces, alongside 1 kill.
Alianys Igartua-Vazquez provided additional firepower, matching the high mark with 3 aces, 3 serves made, and 1 kill.

The Lady Mustangs will look to carry this winning momentum back onto the road on Thursday, September 24, when they travel to face the Belton Middle School Lady Tigers. First serve is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
