TEMPLE, TX — The Travis Science Academy 8th Grade football team defended their home turf on Tuesday evening, securing a competitive 20-13 victory over the Copperas Cove Junior High Bullpups at Travis Science Academy Football Stadium on the campus of Travis Science Academy.

The home crowd was treated to dynamic playmaking in all three phases of the game, as the Mustangs utilized big defensive and special teams plays to hold off a tough Bullpups squad.

Big Plays Turn the Tide

The game turned on dramatic individual efforts that energized the Travis sideline:

Defense Delivers: Felix Arizmendi provided one of the defining moments of the contest, scooping up a Copperas Cove fumble and taking it all the way to the end zone for a touchdown.

Special Teams Spark: Jaliel Gates proved lethal on special teams, breaking loose for a thrilling kickoff return touchdown that kept the momentum firmly in the Mustangs' favor.
