BELTON, Texas — The Travis Science Academy Lady Mustang 8th Grade "A" volleyball team went toe-to-toe with Belton Middle School on Thursday evening, ultimately falling just short in a pair of razor-thin sets. Belton captured the match on their home court with a tight 27-25, 25-23 victory.

With the hard-fought loss, Travis saw their record move to 3-2 on the season.

Despite the setback, the Lady Mustangs showcased immense grit and steady play across all rotations. The team's defensive backline and front-net play kept them within striking distance in both sets, battling until the final whistle.

Standout Performances

Akylah Howard: Led the charge defensively and offensively, anchoring the team with 13 passes made while hammering home 4 kills, serving 1 point, and recording a block.
Alianys Igartua-Vazquez: Was dynamic at the net, matching Howard with 4 kills and 3 major blocks, while adding 11 passes made and 1 serve made.
Alliana Villela: Provided crucial playmaking and consistency, posting 6 passes made, 5 successful serves, and 1 service ace.
