ROCKDALE, Texas — The Travis Science Academy Lady Mustang 8th Grade "A" volleyball team delivered a strong performance on Saturday, taking home a 3rd-place finish at the Rockdale Tournament behind a solid 2-1 record on the day.

Match 1: Travis Defeats Giddings (25-10, 25-11)

The Lady Mustangs kicked off tournament action with a dominant straight-sets victory over Giddings. Travis controlled the tempo from the opening serve, letting up just 21 total points across both sets.

Akylah Howard: 9 serves made, 6 passes made, 1 kill

Match 2: Thrall Edges Out Travis (14-25, 25-17, 9-15)

In their second matchup, Travis went toe-to-toe with Thrall in a three-set battle. After dropping the opening frame, the Lady Mustangs fought back to claim the second set before ultimately coming up short in the deciding tiebreaker.
