BELTON, Texas — Behind a stifling defensive effort and a key touchdown drive capped off by Max Rangel, the Travis Science Academy 8th grade B football team earned a hard-fought 8-0 victory over North Belton Middle School on Tuesday evening at Broncho Stadium.

The physical matchup at Lake Belton High School proved to be a defensive showdown from the opening kickoff. The Mustangs' defensive unit set the tone early, consistently turning back North Belton's offense with disciplined tackling and relentless pressure at the line of scrimmage, keeping the Tigers off the scoreboard for all four quarters.

Travis found the spark it needed on offense when Rangel broke through the defense for a touchdown, providing the game's sole score and putting the Mustangs ahead for good.

With the victory, Travis Science Academy improves to 2-0 on the young season, building strong early-season momentum as they continue district play.

The Mustangs will look to keep their unbeaten streak alive next week when they return to action on Tuesday, October 6. Travis travels to Hewitt to take on Midway Middle School, with kickoff scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
