LITTLE RIVER - The Travis Science Academy 8th Grade B team opened the 2024-25 season on Saturday with three games in the Academy Tournament. The Lady Mustangs had a successful start as they went 2-1 and took 2nd Place overall in the tournament

Travis opened the tournament with a 16-14 loss to Academy. The Lady Mustangs were led by Kyleigh Juarez with 10 points 2 rebounds and 2 assists while Jazmine Locklear had 2 points and 4 rebounds.

The Lady Mustangs quickly rebounded and defeated Bonham Middle School by a score of 19-15. The Lady Mustangs were led by Cristina Garza with9 points and 2 assists while Kyleigh Juarez had 6 points and 4 rebounds.

In their final game, the Lady Mustangs defeated Jarrell. Travis was led by Kyleigh Juarez with 9 points, 3 rounds and assist while Bella Sahm had 4 points and 3 rebounds.

Travis 2-1 will return to action on November 21st when they will travel to Hewitt to take on Midway Middle School beginning at 5:30 pm.
