LITTLE RIVER - The Travis Science Academy 8th Grade A team opened the 2024-25 season on Saturday with three games in the Academy Tournament. The Lady Mustangs had a successful start as they went 2-1 in the tournament

Travis opened the tournament with a 51-16 loss to Academy. The Lady Mustangs scoring were Kaylynn Johnson 5 points, Tiliyah Kayando 3 points and Ja’Marea Wilson with 8 points.

The Lady Mustangs quickly rebounded and defeated Jarrell Middle School by a score of 32-18. The scoring for the Lady Mustangs were Ja’Marea Wilson 11 points, Tiliyah Kayando 9 points, Deonie Jones 6 points, Kaylynn Johnson 4 points and Snisia Williams with 2 points.

In their final game, the Lady Mustangs defeated Bonham by a score of 51-13. Scoring for the lady Mustangs included Ja’Marea Wilson 16 points, Deonie Jones 14 points, Tiliyah Kayando 8 points, Kaylynn Johnson 5 points, and with 4 points each were Anna Brown and Snisia Williams.

Travis 2-1 will return to action on November 21st when they will travel to Hewitt to take on Midway Middle School beginning at 6:30 pm.
